We'd like to do another startup weekend during the summer of 2009. Make suggestions in the Groups, if you have a preference on weekends and/or locations!

In the spring of 2008, 8 entrepreneurs started the first weekend; 7 successfully finished; 6 companies were to be formed; 5 companies did not get cold feet about allocating equity to others... 2 of those companies formed their own build teams and the other 3 pitched their ideas the next Friday night in hopes of finding co-founders. However, insufficient resources were available to continue with the build weekend.

Birmingham Startup has already launched our first company... CrossConneXion launched from start to finish in two back to-back weekends! Building on the StartupWeekend concept, we put on a high-tech "barn raising" for the region's technology entrepreneurs and developers.
